Chicago Commons is a life saver! I was about to lose my job because I had no where for my son to go. Chicago Commons welcomed him with open arms, and guaranteed his safety. He was able to attend IMMEDIATELY, and for that I am so grateful. They work around your schedule and even accommodate on short notices (Thank you Nicole). Walter is truly a blessing! Loretta is accommodating and prompt for allowing me to drop him early. They keep them active, trips, bowling, swimming, art and computer classes. My son LOVES to attend it’s his second family. So if you’re struggling like I was as a single parent with a Special Needs person I recommend you giving them a call TODAY! We love you Chicago Commons🫶

I sent my mother to Chicago Commons Senior Center, and she always has such a good time. The staff are incredibly friendly, patient, and truly caring. They make everyone feel welcome and included. She especially loves the fun field trips and activities -- there's always something engaging and enjoyable planned. It gives me peace of mind knowing she's in such a positive and supportive environment. Highly recommend to any family looking for a wonderful senior center in Chicago!

I’m updating my review because mom now also receives home caregiving from Chgo Commons. The caregiver is respectful, patient & kind. My mother also goes to day services here for a few months now & will begin receiving home caregiving as well. She always says “everyone is so nice” which makes me feel that she is cared about. They give her breakfast, lunch and a snack. She especially loves the trips they take to go bowling. Also she can walk in the large outdoor courtyard & sit under the pergola while talking with other attendees she has become friends with there. It is fenced and safe. They have a regular schedule that includes arts & crafts, Bingo, etc. I work from home often so the transportation to pick her up & drop her off is a huge help. The place is always tidy, seems well run/organized by caring, attentive and communicative staff. Supervisor Nicole & the Director are always responsive and helpful when I reach out to ask questions or need to alter mom’s schedule .

The best advice I got since my husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer's was to check out Chicago Commons Adult Day Services. (This advice was from my social worker at the Memory Clinic at UChicago Medicine.) So I visited. The entire staff was very welcoming, and kind, considerate, patient with the participants. I knew this looked like a good environment for my husband. When my husband started attending in September they were very helpful getting him accustomed to being there, which at first he resisted. Now he attends happily, enjoys the activities and enjoyed his first field trip (bowling!). I highly recommend it, whether you just need a break from caregiving a couple days a week or need care 5 days a week.
